Bloopers – Some Days Nothing Goes As Planned
Bloopers – Some Days Nothing Goes As Planned
Several online viewers tweeted and emailed us wondering why our live online cooking show 14 wasn’t online last Saturday 9 May ’12 – well much as one tries to make everything go correctly, some days, like the bumper sticker says . . . S*^# Happens!
We’ve shot more than two hundred educational instructional cooking videos without too many problems. But this day was like no other we’d experienced.
The day began with a flat tire that needed to be changed before going ingredients shopping for the days shoots. Why are spare tires so hard to get at before coffee in the morning?
The Camera Girl, Corinne, usually on time forgot to roll her camera – take two. And after the days shoots were finished she was closing a cupboard door and cut her finger. Camera Girl had an off day. It happens.
Me, Manfreed, couldn’t get the icing sugar to sift – wasted five minutes of tape. And he kept saying flour instead of icing sugar. And for the first time in our experience Manfreed took three takes to get a recipe to completion. That’s expensive in raw ingredients to re-set the set each time. Manfreed had an off day. It happens.
The Tech Guy, Karl, a meticulous technician, handles all the lights, sound, cameras set-up and runs the full TV studio we have for the live shoots. This day computers were acting strangely. He was talking to them to get them working. And for some strange, completely inexplicable reason, the Tech Guy pushed all the correct buttons, just like every other live shoot day, but we didn’t go live on Ustream.com! Karl had an off day. It happens.
Well, next Saturday is another day. Think positive. It happens.
