Fresh Pastas
Fresh Pasta is not dried – is perishable as it is made from eggs, flour and water.
Storage – refrigerate for three days only – otherwise keep fresh pasta in the freezer until being used.
Fresh pasta comes in numerous vegetable colors, various shapes and can be stuffed with herbs, cheese and meat.
Dried Pastas
Dried Pastas are made from eggs, flour and water and are commercially dried.
Dried Pastas can be stored long term – best to store dried pastas in sealed containers to prevent any insect/bug infestation.
Dried pastas come in numerous vegetable colors and various shapes.
Colors of Pastas
Yellow Pasta – is made with eggs, white flour and water.
Brown Pasta – is made with eggs, whole wheat flour and water.
Green Pasta – is made with spinach included as an ingredient.
Red Pasta – is made with tomatoes included as an ingredient.
Shapes of Pastas
Tube Pastas – are Macaroni and Penne pastas and are good to use for rich, chunky meat sauces.
Flat Pastas – are Spaghetti, Lasanya and Fettuccine pastas and are good to use for thin sauces like cheese sauces.
Interesting Shapes – can be bows, twists and fine pastas and are good to use with soups.

1. Wash all the kitchen utensils/tools and put them away in the proper cupboard.
