Valentine Chocolate Lava Cake from scratch

Ingredients / Shopping List
- Dry Ingredients
- ½ cup/125 ml Flour - All Purpose
- ¼ cup/60 ml White Sugar
- 1 tsp/5 ml Baking Powder
- 2 tbsp/30 ml Cocoa Powder
- Liquid Ingredients
- ½ cup/125 ml Milk
- 3 tbsp/40 ml Butter - melted
- 1 Egg - lightly beaten
- ¼ tsp/1.5 ml Vanilla
- Topping
- ¼ cup/60 ml Brown Sugar
- 1 tbsp/15 ml Cocoa Powder
- ⅓ cup/80 ml Boiling Water
Instructions
- Pre-Heat Oven to 350F/175C
- Into a large bowl sift the Dry Ingredients - Flour, Sugar, Baking Powder, Cocoa Powder
- Crack the egg into a small ramekin and beat the egg slightly
- Add the liquid ingredients into the bowl - egg, butter, milk and vanilla
- Beat the contents of the bowl, the Batter, until completely mixed and smooth
- Pour the Batter into two small ramekins that are used for baking in the oven
- Into a separate small ramekin mix the Topping Ingredients together - brown sugar and cocoa powder
- Sprinkle the Topping Ingredients over the two ramekins with the batter in them
- Pour half the Boiling Water over each ramekin
- Place the two ramekins on a Baking Sheet
- Put the Baking Sheet and two Ramekins in the Pre--Heated Oven
- Set the Timer for 25 minutes of Baking
- After 25 minutes using oven mitts take the ramekins out of the Oven
- Serve immediately
