Question by *~*Mommyof3lovies*~*: How does the rehearsal dinner usually work?
I am getting married on the beach. It’s a simple ceremony. We were planning on going down to the beach the night before (about a 25 minute drive for most) and then coming back to town after and having a dinner. Is that too much driving to ask people to do? Should we just have the dinner and let everyone know who is walking with who at dinner? Or does that not give people enough to go on? It’s not like they will get lost walking on the beach lol. Is being at the site necessary?

I don’t think it is too much driving to ask. However, I do think it is a good idea to let everybody at least get a look at the area so they have an idea of what the size and layout is. You might try placing them – you know “stand here, stand there”. I really think YOUR mind will be more at ease if you do this.
Much luck to you!

Rehearsals can solve many issues that might arise otherwise. I’d have the rehearsal. Your wedding party should be glad to cooperate.
Congrats on your Engagement! I just recently got married in October. It’s the best thing that will ever happen to you despite what anyone says!
Well, in my opinion I would have everyone meet at the beach where the ceremony will take place and rehearse until it is perfect! Then after everyone has rehearesed they will feel much more comfortable with everyone in the bridal party that way when you all drive up to town for dinner everyone will have a good time.
Plus, if you go to dinner first then they all may be a little “drunk” or just way to “Happy” and won’t pay any attention when rehearsing. A 25 min drive is not a problem. Plus, they are your friends and family, so they shouldn’t mind (it will be a good experience for them as well)
Another tip that may help is try to have the rehearsal on at least 2 days before the wedding if you can and if everyone can. Reason being is that you don’t want to be tired the day of the wedding. Plus there are many little details that need to be taken care of even on the last day before the wedding. ( I had mine on thursday, i was married on a saturday) You need as much rest as possible that way you look flawless the day of the wedding! You don’t want to have bags on your eyes (j/k)
Hope all goes well. Congrats to both of you! So where are you honeymooning at?
A rehearsal is always a good idea!! If everyone is walking down to music you want to get the timing right so the processional isn’t over in 20 seconds. Some people might need to get familiar/comfortable with walking in sand. We didn’t have a dinner afterwards. We had a bonfire/party at my dad’s house. It doesn’t always have to be like on tv. Make it your own. After all it is your wedding
